The author

Johnny Achkar writes in English and French about love, loss, madness and the stubborn persistence of hope.

A Prisoner’s Escape, his debut collection, gathers a hundred poems written over years of nights — sea and moonlight, thunder and winter, the people who stayed and the ones who did not. The book is dedicated to his late father, Khalil Al Achkar.
